What to wear Jet boating in winter
Can you Jet boat in Winter? Absolutely you can!
Winter is one of the most spectacular times in Queenstown. Snow-capped mountains surround Lake Wakatipu and our trips offer stunning views of the Remarkables and Coronet Peak ski areas.
It’s important to wrap up warm when you Jet boat with us in winter. We recommend layering up – a thick fleece, or woolly jersey and a warm jacket over the top. If you have thermals, it doesn’t hurt to pop them on underneath. We recommend you wear your ski jacket if you have one, or alternatively a warm waterproof jacket.
Our Jet boats have heated handrails, but we recommend that you wear gloves as well. A hat or beanie is a must as you get up to high speeds of 95kph so the wind chill can be rather chilly!
If you have a buff or neck gaiter, we also recommend wearing one of these and pull it up over your mouth, cheeks and ears. Or you can wear a jacket with a high neck to keep your face and ears warm.
Goggles or glasses will also help keep the spray out of your eyes and are good for those drizzly days.
Last but not least – keep those feet warm! It’s a good idea to wear trousers that cover your ankles and wear thick socks with covered shoes.
But our number one tip is….wear your ski gear! Waterproof, warm and dry, it’s the best option.
That’s it! All you’ve got to do now is book in that Jet boat trip with us.
