There’s plenty of options to make the most of a rainy day in Queenstown. Here’s some ideas to check out:
Time Tripper – Underwater Observatory & Movie Theatre
Hidden under the lake in Central Queenstown, Time Tripper is one of the cheapest things to do in Queenstown. Suitable for all ages, descend 10 metres underwater into a black light theatre and see New Zealand long-fin eels, diving scaup ducks, huge rainbow and brown trout, and chinook salmon up close.
You’ll then get to sit back, relax whilst the underwater observatory transforms into a movie theatre, where you will get to watch Time Tripper, a state-of-the-art animated film. It is the only place in Queenstown where you can visually learn about the Māori Legend of Lake Wakatipu.
Time Tripper shows run from 9.45am every day and you will need to allow 30 minutes.
Only $20 for adults, $10 for kids and $50 for a family. Book here.
