It has taken a while this year but it seems winter has finally arrived in Queenstown and after a long day on the slopes there is nothing better than relaxing in one of the many bars Queenstown has to offer. Here are some of our top picks for the best après ski spots.
The World Bar
The World Bar has to be one of the most popular spots in town, and it’s no surprise with arguably one of the best beer gardens in Queenstown. Make sure you come here hungry and try out one of their awesome burgers or their famous mac ‘n’ cheese balls. With a roaring fire and mulled wine, this is a must for some après ski drinks. Pop next door to sister venue Yonder for some live music, and 12 craft beer taps.
Rhino’s Ski Shack
The ultimate bar when it comes to après ski, this alpine themed bar combines chopped logs and vintage skis with cutting edge photography and street art. You have to make sure you try their famous buttered rum to warm you up after a big day shredding up the hill or a few eggnog shooters to get the night started.
Little Blackwood
For a bit more of a sophisticated vibe head on down to Little Blackwood located on steamer wharf. Sit back and enjoy the view of Remarkables with a nice glass of pinot, and one of their amazing cheese and meat boards. Make sure you try an espresso martini from their extensive cocktail menu or warm up over their very own amaretto hot toddy.
Cowboys
This iconic Queenstown bar has been serving up après ski drinks for years, with the biggest beer handles in town, a pool table, shuffleboard and their mechanical bull you can’t have a trip to Queenstown without checking out this bar.
Harry’s Pool Bar
This chilled out bar with its big comfy couches in front of an open fire, proper pints and pizzas, is the perfect place to fuel up after a long day on the slopes. They have great pizza and pint deals, seven pool tables and live sport, it’s no wonder this bar is a popular spot among both locals and tourists.
